ALI, A. S., M. M. LILA: Serologic relationship and antigenic dominance among five Aujeszky’s disease virus isolates. Vet. arhiv 75, 399-405, 2005. ABSTRACT The serologic relationship and antigenic dominance among five Aujeszky’s disease virus (ADV) isolates, designated VBA1, VBA2, VBA3, mA1p and CD, was studied using homologous and heterologous antigens and sera. Cross-serum neutralization test (C-SNT) was used to measure antibody responses to the virus. Generally, close serologic relationships among ADV isolates were noted. Non-significant (P<0.05) variations in the relationship between any two viruses were observed. However, the highest bilateral relationship was observed between VBA2 and VBA3 and between VBA2 and CD isolates of the virus. The antigenic dominance of some viruses over the others was detected with non-significant (P<0.01) levels, although the higher antigenic dominance was observed for CD over VBA3 and mA1p over VBA3 also. In conclusion, neither major serological variations nor antigenic dominance among the five ADVs studied were detected in the present study, hence grouped as one serologic type.

Genetic and antigenic analysis of type O and A FMD viruses isolated in Iran
FMD is one of the most highly contagious diseases of animals, caused by RNA virus belong to Picornaviridae family and Aphtovirus genus. A broad host range and occurrence of FMDV as seven serotypes and also intratypic antigenic variation without clear cut demarcations, which interferes with a concept of sub typing these factors make difficult conditions to diagnosis, control and eradication of...
متن کاملA comparison of type O foot and mouth disease virus field isolates from northern Thailand.
A survey of type O foot and mouth disease (FMD) virus isolates from northern Thailand was undertaken to determine the relationship between field viruses and the vaccine in use, and to gauge the range of antigenic variation among field viruses. Isolates were collected from the two most recent epizootics, 1986-1987 and 1989-1990, and assessed using a two-dimensional neutralisation test to determi...

The current situation of bovine virus diarrhoea-mucosal disease (BVD-MD) virus infections is briefly reviewed, with special reference to problems arising from fetal infection in the Hokkaido district, a northern island of Japan. The results of some investigations on BVD-MD virus carried out in Japan are also described. Although bovine congenital anomalies caused by BVD-MD virus and mucosal dise...
متن کاملAntigenic Variants ~ Antibody
Antigenic variation in influenza viruses isolated from man has been recognized since 1936 (1--4). Recent elaborate investigations of the antigenic composition of Type A and A-prime viruses and of Type B isolates have provided much additional information. These data outline the antigenic relationships of strains of virus isolated in various years and at various places (5-8). In general it appear...
متن کاملEvaluation of serologic and antigenic relationships between middle eastern respiratory syndrome coronavirus and other coronaviruses to develop vaccine platforms for the rapid response to emerging coronaviruses.
BACKGROUND Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) emerged in 2012, causing severe acute respiratory disease and pneumonia, with 44% mortality among 136 cases to date. Design of vaccines to limit the virus spread or diagnostic tests to track newly emerging strains requires knowledge of antigenic and serologic relationships between MERS-CoV and other CoVs. METHODS Using synthe...
